Marketplace Terms

1. These terms

These terms govern your BeautyBye account and use of our website, app and marketplace services. By creating an account or using BeautyBye you agree to them and to the policies linked from them. You must be at least 18, able to form a binding contract, and use BeautyBye in connection with your professional beauty activity. You must keep your details accurate and protect your sign-in credentials.

2. Our marketplace role

BeautyBye provides professional verification, listing and messaging tools, checkout, shipping support, issue review, reviews and payout administration. Unless a listing expressly says otherwise, the seller owns and supplies the item and the sale contract is between buyer and seller. BeautyBye is not the seller, does not take title to listed goods and does not routinely possess them. Our payment, shipping or dispute services do not make us a party to that sale.

3. Professional access

All members must pass professional verification. Selling is optional and additionally requires an approved, active seller profile and any payout checks we require. We may request further evidence, repeat checks, restrict features or refuse access where information cannot be verified, is misleading, or creates legal, safety, fraud or payment risk.

4. Listings, offers and contracts

Sellers choose their price and are responsible for title, authority to sell, authenticity, condition, safety, photographs, description, labelling and legally required information. AI suggestions are optional drafting assistance and must be checked by the seller. A buyer's offer is not a sale until accepted and checkout is completed. For a direct purchase, the sale contract forms when payment is successfully authorised and BeautyBye confirms the order. We may prevent or cancel an order before dispatch where payment, safety, legal or listing checks fail.

5. Prices, fees and payment

The checkout shows the item price, delivery charge, transaction service fee and total before payment. The displayed checkout total controls. Fees may be waived or changed for future orders, but never after you have committed to the displayed total. Stripe processes card payments and seller connected accounts. BeautyBye does not store full card details. A payment authorisation or recorded seller receivable is not a promise that seller payout has begun.

6. Delivery, issues and payout

Use the delivery or collection method recorded in the order. Authoritative carrier delivery or confirmed collection starts BeautyBye's 48-hour platform review window. A buyer may report an issue during that window and an open issue blocks an unreleased payout. A qualifying buyer review may permit earlier release, but release remains subject to payment, dispute, refund, verification and Stripe readiness checks. The Buyer Terms and Seller Terms explain these processes. They do not remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Content, messages and reviews

You retain ownership of your content. You grant Salon Stock Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for the life of the content to host, copy, resize, display, moderate and preserve listings, profile material and reviews as needed to operate, secure and promote BeautyBye. This does not permit us to use private messages or verification evidence for general advertising. Reviews must reflect a genuine BeautyBye transaction. Fake, manipulated or undisclosed incentivised reviews are prohibited.

8. Conduct and safety

Do not list prohibited, recalled, unsafe, counterfeit, stolen or infringing items; mislead others; harass or threaten anyone; evade fees or checkout; manipulate prices or reviews; scrape the service; compromise accounts; or use BeautyBye unlawfully. We may investigate, preserve evidence, hide content, cancel affected transactions, hold payout, restrict features or suspend accounts. Urgent action may be taken before notice where needed to protect people, comply with law or provider rules, or prevent loss. You may complain using our support contact.

9. Taxes and reporting

You remain responsible for your own tax, accounting and product-law duties. We may collect, verify and report seller and transaction information to HMRC or another authority where required, and provide the seller with a copy of reported information. Reporting does not itself mean tax is due.

10. Liability and legal rights

Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, BeautyBye is not responsible for losses caused by another user, a seller's goods, or events outside our reasonable control. For business users, our aggregate liability arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of GBP 100 and the fees that user paid BeautyBye in that period. We are not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, business, goodwill or opportunity where law permits.

11. Changes, closure and law

We may update these terms for legal, security, product or commercial reasons. Material changes take effect only after reasonable notice and any acceptance the service requests; they do not rewrite completed sales. You may close your account, subject to open orders, disputes, amounts due and lawful retention. These terms are governed by Scots law and Scottish courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction. A person acting as a consumer may also rely on mandatory law and courts available where they live. If one term is unenforceable, the remainder continues.
