Privacy Notice

Information we use

We use account and authentication details; professional and seller verification evidence; profile, listing and image content; offers, orders and addresses; payment and Stripe Connect identifiers and status; shipping, label, service-point and tracking details; messages, reviews, reports, disputes and support records; legal acceptances and data-rights records; AI listing requests, outputs and corrections; device, session, push-token, log, audit, security and fraud signals; and tax-reporting information where required. Stripe receives card details directly; BeautyBye does not store full card numbers.

Why and legal basis

We process data to create and secure accounts, verify eligibility, provide listings, orders, payment, shipping, messaging, reviews, support and data-rights services, and keep acceptance evidence where necessary to perform our contract or take requested steps. We use legitimate interests to prevent fraud, secure the marketplace, moderate content, investigate disputes, improve operational reliability and defend claims, balanced against individual rights. We process information to meet tax, accounting, product-safety, law-enforcement and other legal obligations. Optional marketing and non-essential device storage use consent where required. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

AI assistance and decisions

When you choose Analyze Photo, the selected product image and listing context are sent to the configured AI provider to suggest editable fields. Suggestions may be wrong and do not publish a listing. Human sellers remain responsible and administrators can review corrections. BeautyBye does not use this feature to make a solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effect.

Sharing

We share only what is needed with the other transaction participant; Stripe for payments and connected accounts; ShipStation and selected carriers for delivery; OpenAI when live AI assistance is selected; hosting, database, storage, cache, email and push providers; professional advisers; and regulators, courts, law enforcement, tax authorities or rights holders where lawful. Sellers may be independent controllers of buyer details received to fulfil an order and must use them only for that purpose and legal records.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. We use UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, with the required transfer assessment, where applicable. Contact us for information about the safeguard relevant to your data.

Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose, open transactions and disputes, safety and fraud controls, tax and accounting duties, legal claims and evidence of agreements. Retention depends on record type and applicable limitation or statutory periods. Export archives are available for seven days and then deleted by the service. Deletion can be delayed or limited where a lawful reason requires retention; data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing, and may withdraw consent. We may verify identity and explain any lawful limit. Use the in-product data export or deletion request where available, or contact us. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security, children and changes

We use access controls, audit records and provider security measures appropriate to the data; no service can promise absolute security. BeautyBye is for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We will post material notice changes with a new version and effective date.
